New
York
I'm in New York. My
son graduated from Columbia. There are many reasons to visit the big apple.
Here are some:
- Watched Matilda
-- excellent!
- Watched Jersey
Boys --- memorable!
- Took the subway
--- a $31 for a 7 day pass is the way to go
- The city's a little
dirty but that's expected if you haven't slept for decades
- Advertising everywhere
- in the the trains, on the walls, billboards ... It's a marketing overload.
- The water - refreshingly
deliciously clean. Who needs bottled water?
- Food glorious food
- authentic and varied
- Traffic - still
slow and noisy but now Times Square has pedicabs --- $3 a minute!
- Broadway is alive,
plentiful and raking in tourist money
- The World Trade
Center - majestic, and surrounded by tearful memories in a pool of water
cascading down 2 square holes where the twin towers used to stand.
- But the best reason
to go there is because my son lives here.

Wisdom
from Charlie of New Jersey

Just spent 15 minutes searching for my phone in my car ... using my
phone as a flashlight.
Thanks

Forgetful Sent in by Don of Kelowna, B.C.
- Senility has been
a smooth transition for me.

- Remember back when
we were kids and every time it was below zero outside, they closed school?
Me neither.
- I may not be that
funny or athletic or good looking or smart or talented ...

I forgot where I was going with this.
- I love being over
50. I learn something new every day....
and forget 5 others.
- A thief broke into
my house last night. He started searching for money,

... so I woke up and searched with him.
- I think I'll just
put an "Out of Order" sticker on my forehead and call it a
day.
