An
Olympic Rabbit
Have you heard the scandal about the Olympian named Ryan Locthe who made
up this incredible story about being held up at gunpoint in Rio? His little
prank has soured diplomatic relations with Brazil. What was he thinking?
Oh ... I guess he wasn't.
People who grow up in a privileged home remind me of the rabbit in Aesop's
timeless fable. Rabbits are so ahead of the turtles in the race of life
but they don't take advantage of that lead. They're so overconfident they
forget to use their brains.
I did a little research because I couldn't believe he was that dumb. Guess
what? He is!! His net worth is a few million dollars. His looks ... his
body --- is what women fantasize over. But no matter how hard you knock
in that doorway to his brain, there's nobody there. (I share a video below
to prove my claim). It's so incredibly sad.
I
wish the best for Lochte but at 32 years old, he's no longer a kid. He's
already hard-wired. I'm afraid he will run into one disappointment after
another unless he finds meaning in his life. It is possible.
I
know of such an athlete. His name is Ron Homenuke and he was a professional
hockey player for Canada. At the peak of his career he had an accident
and he never recovered. In his depression he found Christ. Last time I
talked to him, he was a missionary helping the poor in the Philippines.
He said being a missionary was more fulfilling than anything he had ever
done.
Are
you a rabbit? Are you a turtle? Moving up? Moving down? Wise up, dude!
(This is just me) but without a spritual foundation, whether up or down,
life will still be empty TGIF people!
